Questioning Skills for Effective Scrutiny

This workshop is designed to provide all participants with the ability to plan and implement questioning processes for Scrutiny.  The session is built around the scrutiny panel’s role and terms of reference and will integrate any documentation and policies so that it fully complements the Panel’s organisational role.

Programme Objectives

By the end of the programme delegates will be able to:

  1. Describe different questioning styles and techniques
  2. Ask questions
  3. Use more advanced questioning and probing techniques
  4. Demonstrate active listening techniques
  5. Use information from the questioning process as the basis for recommendation.

The session will feature a realistic case study, which will enable participants to translate questioning theory to real world situations.
